Scripture for the Fight

Ammunition

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God” — 2 Corinthians 10:4

Find your battle below. Load the Word. Fire it out loud — the enemy answered Scripture in the wilderness, and he still has to.

Temptation & Lust

The fight most men lose in secret. You don't negotiate with it — you flee it, and you keep a loaded covenant.

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

1 Corinthians 10:13

“I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?”

Job 31:1

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

Psalm 119:11

“Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”

2 Timothy 2:22

Anger

Anger isn't the sin — what you build or break with it is. A man who rules his spirit outranks a man who takes a city.

“He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.”

Proverbs 16:32

“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.”

James 1:19–20

“Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: neither give place to the devil.”

Ephesians 4:26–27

“A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”

Proverbs 15:1

Fear & Anxiety

Fear is a spirit, and it isn't yours. Power, love, and a sound mind are the issued equipment.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

2 Timothy 1:7

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

Isaiah 41:10

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6–7

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

Joshua 1:9

Finances & Provision

Provision follows order: seek the Kingdom first, honor God with the firstfruits, work the plan.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Matthew 6:33

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:19

“Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: so shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.”

Proverbs 3:9–10

Leading Your Home

Priest, prophet, protector, pastor, provider — the mantle starts at your own front door.

“...as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

Joshua 24:15

“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.”

Ephesians 5:25

“Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it...”

Psalm 127:1

“And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children...”

Deuteronomy 6:6–7

Grief & Loss

Real men grieve. The Lord doesn't stand far from a broken heart — He moves closer.

“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”

Psalm 34:18

“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”

Matthew 5:4

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

Revelation 21:4

Discouragement & Heaviness

When the fight is long and the ground looks the same as yesterday — hope in God anyway. The harvest has a due season.

“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.”

Psalm 42:11

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Isaiah 40:31

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

Galatians 6:9

“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.”

2 Corinthians 4:8–9

Addiction & Strongholds

A stronghold is a lie with a fortress around it. The weapons issued to you are mighty enough to pull it down — and confession keeps the ground you take.

“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God...”

2 Corinthians 10:4–5

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

John 8:36

“For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.”

Romans 6:14

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

1 John 1:9

Isolation

The enemy's oldest play: separate a man from his brothers, then work him alone. Two are better than one. Stay in formation.

“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.”

Ecclesiastes 4:9–10

“Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”

Proverbs 27:17

“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is...”

Hebrews 10:24–25

Pride

Pride is the one enemy that fights for God's position. Humility isn't weakness — it's rank properly worn.

“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”

Proverbs 16:18

“...God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”

James 4:6

“...what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”

Micah 6:8

When the Battle Is Heavy

No Man Fights Alone

Some nights the fight is bigger than a verse on a screen — and reaching out IS the act of a real man, not the failure of one. If you are in crisis or thinking about ending your life, make a call before you make any permanent decision.
